THEYSUCK is a punk, queer, and unapologetically defiant vampire film that reclaims the screen for transness, gender-identity politics, and queer history. Conceived as a rejection of convention, the project was initially denied funding by UAL’s film class for being “too niche for most audiences.” Undeterred, myself and co-creator Lison Pierro Mombellet took the project into our own hands, building an entirely queer cast and crew, crowdfunding the film, and independently producing it.
Set against the backdrop of London’s punk subculture and infused with biting social commentary, THEYSUCK explores themes of identity, belonging, and defiance through the lens of the vampire mythos. The film garnered widespread acclaim, with a sold-out premiere at a London cinema and multiple awards at international film festivals.
THEYSUCK is more than just a film—it’s a statement, a celebration, and a call to disrupt the narrative and create space for queer stories in all their radical complexity.
